The
Duncan Butterfly yo-yo, first released in the 1950's, made it easier
for people to land and perform more complex string tricks with its wide
inward-tapered shape and rim concentrated weight. Not
long after the Duncan Imperial yoyo, came the Duncan Butterfly. So
classic is this yoyo, that "butterfly" has become the term to describe
yoyos that have an open shape making string tricks much easier to
perform. The Duncan Butterfly Yo-Yo is a fixed metal axle yo-yo built in the traditional Duncan style.
